Dr. Asit Jha obtained his medical education from Grant Medical College, University of Bombay in India. After hematology/oncology training in Philadelphia, he decided to move to Waycross, Georgia to provide high quality cancer care to patients living in rural areas where medical resources are scarce.
Dr. Jha is Board-certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. He treats adult patients with various cancers including benign and malignant blood disorders. He has a special interest in breast, colorectal and lung cancer. Dr. Jha pursued a career in oncology because it is a challenging specialty with rapid advancement in cancer diagnostics and therapeutics. He believes in taking care of the whole individual not just their cancer by listening to their concerns and addressing the physical, emotional and spiritual aspect of cancer care.
